IP55 Outdoor Rated VFD Panels Supplied Nationwide in the Philippines

Chutian-built VFD panels with Inovance drives for exposed Philippine installations: IP54 standard, IP65 custom builds that meet or exceed IP55, with siting guidance for typhoon, coastal, and rooftop conditions.

What we supply for outdoor rated VFD panel requirements

JOHOB Hardware Trading supplies outdoor rated VFD control panels across the Philippines, built by Chutian with Inovance variable frequency drives inside. The standard enclosure we quote is IP54 powder coated steel, and IP65 is available on custom configurations. If your specification calls for IP55, the IP65 build meets or exceeds it on both digits of the rating.

That is the configuration we normally recommend for a genuinely exposed installation. Panels carry CE marking on the electrical assembly, are produced under an ISO 9001 manufacturer quality system, and components are TUV SUD tested. We deliver nationwide, covering NCR, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and locators inside PEZA, SBMA, and Clark. Because we source from Philippine and China partner factories, you get factory level pricing with a local warranty and local after sales support instead of a direct import with no one to call when a drive faults during commissioning. Pricing is quote based, because the enclosure rating, drive size, and control philosophy move the number too much for a list price to be useful. The wider range sits in our electrical controls and panels category. Send the pump or motor data, the site exposure, and the control sequence you need, and we respond within one business day.

What IP55 actually protects against, and when to step up to IP65

IP ratings come from IEC 60529 and the two digits mean different things, which is where most outdoor panel specifications go wrong. The first digit is solid particle protection: a 5 means dust protected, a 6 means dust tight with no ingress at all. The second digit is water protection: a 4 means protected against splashing water from any direction, a 5 means protected against water jets from a 6.3 mm nozzle, and a 6 means protected against powerful jets from a 12.5 mm nozzle.

RatingDust (1st digit)Water (2nd digit)Typical siting
IP54Dust protectedSplash proofCovered pump room, plant room, under-roof installs
IP55Dust protectedJet proof (6.3 mm nozzle)Exposed installs facing wind driven rain
IP65Dust tightJet proof (6.3 mm nozzle)Exposed installs; meets or exceeds IP55 on both digits

Read against each other, IP55 and IP65 have identical water protection and IP65 is one grade better on dust. That is the practical reason we point specifiers at the IP65 custom build when they write IP55 on a drawing: it satisfies the water requirement they actually care about and adds dust tightness for free in engineering terms. IP54 remains the right and lower cost choice for a panel that sits under a roof or inside a covered plant room where wind driven rain cannot reach it.

Philippine site conditions that decide your enclosure rating

The Philippines puts three specific stresses on an outdoor panel and each maps to a different part of the specification. First is wind driven rain during the southwest monsoon and typhoon season, which is what pushes you from IP54 to a jet rated IP55 or IP65 enclosure. Splash rated gear on an unprotected rooftop or a pump pad in open ground will take horizontal water at the door gasket and cable glands, so the gasket detail and gland plate matter as much as the headline rating. Second is coastal and near coastal salt air, common on plant sites in Cavite, Batangas, Cebu, and across Mindanao, which attacks the enclosure finish and any unprotected fastener before it ever reaches the drive. Powder coated steel handles this acceptably when the coating is intact, so specify touch up and inspection in your maintenance plan. Third is heat. A sealed IP65 enclosure cannot rely on free air exchange, and a VFD dissipates real heat, so an outdoor panel in direct sun needs either a thermally managed enclosure, a sun shield, or a drive derated for the internal ambient. The failure mode we see quoted most often is a correctly rated enclosure with an undersized thermal design, which trips on high temperature in the first dry season afternoon rather than in the first storm.

Panel types we supply beyond single VFD starters

Outdoor rated is a requirement, not a product, so the same enclosure specification applies across the panel types we supply: VFD panels, SDE panels, star delta starters, and motor control centres, all built by Chutian using Inovance drives. For pressure systems we most commonly quote the duplex VFD pump control panel with Inovance VFDs, where two pumps alternate under drive control to hold a pressure setpoint, the standard arrangement for commercial building water distribution and booster duty; the selection arithmetic is in our VFD versus fixed speed pumps guide. Where the load does not justify drive control, a star delta or SDE panel in the same outdoor rated enclosure is the cheaper answer. The panel is normally specified alongside the pumping and pressure systems it controls: we source pumps from Grundfos, DAB, and Speroni, plus CDL for engineered vertical multistage units, so the panel and the pump curve are sized against each other by one supplier rather than reconciled between two. Our commercial booster pumps page covers those packages.

Who builds the panels we supply, and which drives are inside

JOHOB Hardware Trading does not manufacture control panels. We source them from partner factories in the Philippines and China, and the outdoor rated units we quote most often are Chutian panels built around Inovance variable frequency drives. That matters for two reasons. First, you know which drive brand sits inside the enclosure before you release the purchase order, so your electrical contractor can plan parameter sets, keypad access, and spare drive holdings instead of discovering an unlabelled drive at commissioning. Second, buying from a named panel builder means the enclosure, the drive, the contactors, and the terminal layout arrive as one assembled and factory tested unit, not as a box of parts your site electrician has to fit together in a jobsite container.

If your consultant has already written a specific drive brand into the electrical specification, send that specification page with the RFQ. We will price it against that brand and name the actual drive on the quotation rather than leaving it as a generic VFD line item. Sourcing across both PH and China factories is what lets us hold 21 to 35 day ex-stock lead times on standard configurations, while non standard builds where the enclosure size, the ingress rating, or the drive rating falls outside the usual range are quoted at 45 to 90 days made to order. Ask which of the two bands your configuration lands in before you build your construction schedule around it.

Certifications and documentation supplied with each outdoor panel

Certification on an outdoor rated VFD panel is not one stamp, it is a set of separate claims that cover different parts of the assembly, and procurement teams get burned when a supplier blurs them together. Here is how ours break down. CE marking applies to the electrical assembly and the components inside it. ISO 9001 covers the manufacturer quality management system at the partner factory, meaning documented process control on the build, not a performance rating of your specific panel. TUV SUD testing applies where the supplied equipment carries it. We confirm which of these apply to your exact configuration on the quotation itself, before you commit, because the answer changes with enclosure size, drive rating, and which factory the build is allocated to.

We do not claim certifications we cannot produce paperwork for, and we will tell you plainly when a requested marking is not available on a given build rather than quoting it and sorting it out later. If your project is being turned over to a government institution, a PEZA locator, or an internal QA team that audits submittals, list the specific documents you need in the RFQ: certificate of conformity, factory test report, single line diagram, bill of materials with component brands, and the ingress protection declaration. We will confirm document by document what comes with the panel and what does not.

Which systems an outdoor rated VFD panel actually controls on PH sites

Buyers reach this page from several different systems, and the right panel differs for each. Booster and pressure sets are the most common: a duplex VFD pump control panel with Inovance drives drives two pumps with lead and lag alternation and pressure feedback, and it goes outdoors when the pump room is a slab or a roof deck rather than an enclosed plant room. The same configuration carries a condominium booster pump replacement in Manila where the set sits on an exposed roof deck. Transfer pumps moving water from a cistern to a roof tank often sit in the same exposed position. Submersible applications put the pump underwater and the panel above ground, which makes the enclosure rating the weak point in the whole assembly.

Beyond single VFD starters, we supply star delta panels, soft starter and direct on line arrangements, and MCC panels where several motors are grouped under one lineup, all available in outdoor rated enclosures. Fire protection work brings its own case: fire reserve tanks and sprinkler kits usually sit at the edge of a property with no roof over the control gear. Steam and boiler plant, condensate systems, and industrial processing lines such as briquette lines, mixers, extruders, and mills all carry motor loads that may need drive control in a location that is covered but not sealed. Tell us the motor rating, the quantity of motors, and whether the panel location is fully exposed, roofed, or indoors, and the enclosure specification follows from that rather than from a rating picked off a datasheet.

Nationwide delivery, local warranty, and after sales on imported panels

The risk with any imported control panel is what happens in month seven when a drive faults and the seller has already banked the payment. Our model is built to answer that. We deliver nationwide across the Philippines, covering NCR and the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the economic zones including PEZA, SBMA, and Clark. Equipment sourced from PH and China factories is delivered with local warranty and after sales support, which means the warranty is administered here rather than requiring you to correspond directly with an overseas factory in a different time zone and language. Because we source from named partner factories rather than spot marketplace sellers, replacement drives and components can be traced back to a specific build and a specific bill of materials, which is what makes a replacement part conversation fast instead of forensic.

For sites outside Metro Manila, tell us the delivery address and the site access constraints at RFQ stage, not at dispatch. Panel dimensions, weight, and whether the receiving site has lifting equipment or a usable approach road all affect how the unit ships and how it gets from the truck to its foundation. We respond to RFQs within 1 business day, so confirming these details early costs you a day, not a week, and it prevents a panel sitting on a flatbed at a site gate it cannot pass through.

Buying the panel with the pump set, tank, or fittings on one quotation

An outdoor rated VFD panel is almost never bought alone. It is bought because a water system, a fire reserve, or a process line is being built, and the panel is one line on a longer bill of quantities. Quoting the panel in isolation is how projects end up with a drive rated for one duty and a pump curve that wants another; the trade-offs are covered in our guide on VFD versus fixed speed pumps. We supply the surrounding scope from the same roster: commercial booster pumps plus transfer and submersible pumping systems including established brands such as Grundfos, DAB, and Speroni alongside CDL engineered vertical multistage pumps; piping, fittings, and accessories including stainless steel flexible hose and ball and gate valves; and steam and boiler systems where the load sits on that side of the plant. Where the scope needs MCC panel fabrication in the Philippines, that goes on the same document, and VFD panel installation in Makati projects get the same coordination support. Water storage is handled under our sister brand TankSmith for FRP, GRP, hot dip galvanised, and stainless modular tanks supplied as turnkey installs, and those tanks are sourced from partner factories, not manufactured by us. Fire protection scope covering fire reserve tanks and sprinkler kits can go on the same quotation. Put the whole scope in one RFQ and you get one lead time band, one set of commercial terms, and one party accountable when the panel, the pump, and the pressure vessel have to agree with each other on site. Quotes are issued per project rather than published as a price list, and we reply within 1 business day.

Lead times, quoting, VAT, and PEZA or SBMA zero-VAT treatment

Lead time depends on whether your panel is a stock configuration or a made to order build. Ex stock configurations run 21 to 35 days. Made to order panels, which is where most IP65 custom enclosures and non standard control sequences land, run 45 to 90 days. Plan your electrical rough in and commissioning dates against the made to order band if you are specifying a custom rating, because the enclosure fabrication, not the drive, is usually the long pole. Pricing is quote based and we do not disclose prices publicly. On tax treatment, 12 percent VAT applies to VAT registered buyers in the normal way, while PEZA and SBMA locators and exporters are invoiced at zero VAT, so include your registration details with the RFQ and the quotation comes back with the correct treatment already applied. We respond to RFQs within one business day. Equipment is delivered with a local warranty and local after sales support, which is the practical difference between buying through us and importing a panel directly: the warranty conversation happens in the Philippines with a supplier who can send someone, not through a factory contact in a different time zone.

How to write the RFQ so the first quotation is the right one

Six pieces of information let us quote an outdoor rated VFD panel accurately on the first pass. One, the target IP rating and whether it is a hard specification from a consultant or a performance requirement we can meet with an equal or better build. Two, motor kW and full load amps per pump or motor, and the supply voltage and phase at the site. Three, the number of drives and the duty arrangement, for example duplex alternating, duplex with one on standby, or triplex. Four, the physical exposure: fully outdoor in open ground, rooftop in direct sun, covered walkway, or indoor plant room, since this is what settles IP54 against IP65 and whether thermal management is needed. Five, the control philosophy, meaning constant pressure with a transducer, level control, flow following, plus any BMS signals or dry contacts you need brought out. Six, the site and buyer details, including region and PEZA or SBMA registration if applicable, so delivery and VAT are priced correctly. If a consultant drawing already exists, send it as is; our guide on how to size a booster pump for a commercial building covers the pump side of the same specification. We would rather read the specification than reconstruct it, and it removes the round trip that usually costs a week.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Do you supply an IP55 rated VFD panel in the Philippines?

We supply outdoor rated VFD panels built by Chutian with Inovance drives. The standard build is an IP54 powder coated steel enclosure, and IP65 is available on custom configurations. Where a specification calls for IP55, the IP65 build satisfies it, because IP65 matches IP55 on water jet protection and is one grade higher on dust protection. Tell us whether IP55 is a hard consultant requirement or a performance target, and we will confirm the exact enclosure configuration on the quotation.

2

What is the difference between IP54, IP55, and IP65 for an outdoor panel?

Under IEC 60529, the first digit is dust protection and the second is water protection. IP54 is dust protected plus protection against splashing water. IP55 is dust protected plus protection against water jets from a 6.3 mm nozzle. IP65 is fully dust tight plus jet protection. In practice, IP54 suits a covered pump room or plant room, while a panel exposed to wind driven rain on a rooftop or open pad needs the jet rated protection of IP55 or IP65. IP65 also needs thermal management because it cannot rely on free air exchange.

3

How long does an outdoor rated VFD panel take to deliver?

Standard ex stock configurations run 21 to 35 days. Made to order builds run 45 to 90 days, and most custom IP65 enclosures or non standard control sequences fall in that band because the enclosure fabrication drives the schedule rather than the drive itself. If your commissioning date is fixed, send the RFQ early and tell us the date, so we can confirm against the current factory position. We respond to RFQs within one business day.

4

Can PEZA or SBMA locators buy these panels at zero VAT?

Yes. PEZA and SBMA locators and exporters are invoiced at zero VAT, while VAT registered buyers outside those regimes are invoiced with the standard 12 percent VAT. Include your registration details with the RFQ and the quotation will already carry the correct treatment, which avoids a revision cycle during approval. We deliver nationwide, including into PEZA, SBMA, and Clark, as well as NCR, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

5

Which VFD brand is inside the panel, and can we specify a different one?

The panels we supply are Chutian assemblies using Inovance variable frequency drives, which is the combination we quote as standard. If your specification names a different drive brand, say so in the RFQ and we will confirm on the quotation whether it can be accommodated in the build and what it does to price and lead time. Panels carry CE marking on the electrical assembly, are produced under an ISO 9001 manufacturer quality system, and components are TUV SUD tested.

6

Do you supply the pumps and controls together, or panel only?

Both. We supply panel only where the pumps are already specified, and we supply the panel with the pumping and pressure equipment as one package where that is easier to coordinate. Our pump sources include Grundfos, DAB, and Speroni, plus CDL for engineered vertical multistage units, so the panel and the pump curve can be sized against each other by one supplier. Water storage, fire reserve tanks, and steam and boiler equipment on the same site can be quoted together, with modular tank work handled under our TankSmith sister brand.

7

Is an IP55 panel enough for a coastal or salt air site in the Philippines?

IP55 addresses dust ingress and low pressure water jets from any direction. It does not by itself address salt corrosion, which attacks the enclosure body, the hinges, the gland plate, and the door gasket rather than getting past the ingress seal. On coastal, reclamation, and port adjacent sites, tell us that at RFQ stage so the enclosure material, coating system, and gasket specification are quoted for that exposure, and consider stepping the ingress rating up alongside it. Sending us the site location and whether the panel is fully exposed or roofed changes the specification more than the IP number alone does.

8

Who manufactures the panels and where do they ship from?

JOHOB Hardware Trading is a supplier, not a manufacturer. We source outdoor rated VFD panels from partner factories in the Philippines and China, and the units we quote most often are Chutian panels built around Inovance variable frequency drives. The drive brand and the panel builder are named on the quotation before you commit, so nothing arrives as an unlabelled generic unit. If your electrical specification requires a different drive brand, send that page with the RFQ and we will price the build against it. Standard configurations run 21 to 35 days ex-stock; made to order builds run 45 to 90 days.

9

Does the panel come with a local warranty, and who handles a service call?

Yes. Equipment we supply is delivered with local warranty and after sales support administered here in the Philippines, so you are not corresponding directly with an overseas factory across a time zone gap when a drive faults. Because panels come from named partner factories rather than spot marketplace sellers, a faulty component can be traced back to a specific build and bill of materials, which is what makes a replacement part conversation fast. Confirm the warranty period and what it covers on your quotation, since coverage varies by configuration and by which factory the build is allocated to.

10

Can you supply MCC, star delta, or soft starter panels in the same outdoor rating?

Yes. Beyond single VFD starters we supply star delta panels, soft starter and direct on line arrangements, and MCC panels where several motors are grouped into one lineup, and these can be specified in outdoor rated enclosures. The practical limit is physical: an MCC lineup in a high ingress rating gets large, heavy, and thermally demanding, so the enclosure and its ventilation or cooling arrangement have to be designed rather than picked from a standard size. Send the motor schedule with ratings and quantities and we will come back with a configuration and a lead time band within 1 business day.

11

Do you deliver outdoor VFD panels to Visayas and Mindanao sites?

Yes. We deliver nationwide across the Philippines including NCR, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the economic zones covering PEZA, SBMA, and Clark. For provincial deliveries, give us the exact site address and the access constraints at RFQ stage rather than at dispatch. Panel dimensions, shipping weight, whether the receiving site has lifting equipment, and whether the approach road takes a flatbed all determine how the unit ships and how it gets from the truck to its foundation. Raising this early costs a day. Raising it late leaves a panel stuck at a site gate.

12

How is VAT handled, and do PEZA or SBMA locators pay it?

Pricing is quote based and issued per project rather than published as a price list. For VAT registered buyers, 12% VAT applies on the quotation. Registered PEZA and SBMA locators and qualified exporters are treated as zero-VAT, so the quotation is issued without the 12% added. Tell us your registration status when you send the RFQ, along with your zone and registration details, so the first quotation you receive is already correct and does not have to be reissued for a tax treatment correction. We respond to RFQs within 1 business day.
