Five checks separate a trading company from a supply partner. First, ask which manufacturer actually builds the equipment. A supplier who will not name the factory is protecting a margin, not a relationship. Second, ask which certification documents ship with the unit, and insist they arrive with the delivery rather than on request months later. Third, get a lead time in days, split between ex-stock and made-to-order, because those two numbers behave very differently against a shutdown window. Fourth, confirm how VAT will be treated on your invoice before the purchase order is cut, particularly if you are a PEZA or SBMA locator or an exporter. Fifth, ask who performs the commissioning and who holds the warranty after the container is opened. Documentation is where most equipment purchases fall apart at turnover, especially in a plant that faces client audits or a locator that has to satisfy an ecozone authority. Depending on the item supplied, the equipment on our quotations carries manufacturer certification including ISO 9001 quality management system certification at the manufacturing plant, TUV SUD testing, and CE marking on electrical equipment and material handling units. Modular tank panels are supplied with WRAS certification where the application calls for potable water contact. Pressure vessels carry ASME certification where applicable to the item. Scissor lifts follow IPAF standards for powered access equipment. These certifications belong to the supplied equipment and the manufacturers who build it, and we forward the actual certificates rather than summarising them in an email. Ask for the document pack at quotation stage and we will tell you exactly which certificates apply to your specific line items before you commit, which is more useful than discovering the gap during commissioning. If a certification you need does not apply to a particular item, we will say that plainly instead of implying coverage that is not there. Pricing is quote-based and we do not publish price lists, because equipment cost moves with duty point, material specification, panel configuration, and freight, and a published number would be wrong for most buyers. What we do publish is our timing and our tax handling, because those are the two things that break a procurement schedule. Standard lead times are 21 to 35 days for ex-stock items and 45 to 90 days for made-to-order equipment. Build your shutdown window against the made-to-order band unless we have confirmed stock in writing. On tax, the standard 12 percent VAT applies to VAT-registered buyers. Zero-VAT treatment applies to SBMA and PEZA locator equipment supply and to exporters, which is a material difference on a seven-figure equipment package and needs to be settled before the purchase order is issued, not corrected on the invoice afterwards. We respond to RFQs within one business day. That response either contains the quotation or tells you exactly what technical information is still missing, so you are never waiting a week to learn that we needed the flow rate and head before we could price anything.
