A transfer pump moves water from one point to another, typically from a cistern or ground tank up to a roof tank or between storage vessels. It runs to fill, then stops. Its job is defined by flow and static lift, and it is usually controlled by level switches rather than by pressure. A booster pump maintains pressure at the fixtures. It responds to demand, runs at part load for much of the day, and is where variable frequency drive control earns its cost back through soft starting and reduced cycling. The two are priced differently because the control philosophy is different, and the control panel is often the swing factor in the quotation. If your building has a roof tank and gravity distribution, you likely need a transfer pump plus, in taller buildings, a separate booster set for the upper floors. The tax treatment on a Philippine pump purchase is not a rounding detail, and getting it wrong late in a procurement cycle is one of the more expensive mistakes we see. For VAT-registered buyers, 12 percent VAT applies to the quotation in the normal way and appears as its own line. For PEZA and SBMA locators and for registered exporters, zero-VAT treatment applies, which removes that 12 percent from the total outright. On a pump package with a control panel and accessories, that is a material difference, and it is the single largest swing in the quotation that has nothing to do with the equipment specification.
