Case Study

FRP Modular Water Tank Delivery to Subic Bay Freeport

An 8 m³ WRAS-certified FRP modular bolted water tank supplied and delivered to a PCAB-licensed contractor executing at Subic Bay Freeport, complete with HDG kit and full documentation, on schedule.

The Requirement

A PCAB-licensed contractor executing at Subic Bay Freeport in Zambales needed a specific water tank for a facility one-stop-shop project. The requirements were precise: 8 m³ capacity in a single compartment, WRAS-certified potable water contact, a complete HDG kit (internal and external ladders, water level indicator, base channel, all hardware), and supply plus delivery to Subic Bay Freeport, with installation to be executed by the contractor's own crew.

The contractor had reviewed lower-cost alternatives, including generic FRP panels from local wholesalers and PE tank options, but flagged two disqualifying issues: first, generic panels typically ship with 17 to 20% glass fiber content, which underperforms on structural rigidity for stacked bolted assemblies; second, non-WRAS panels leach resin into stored water, which their end-client operations would not accept.

The Specification We Delivered

  • Capacity: 8,000 L nominal, 2 x 2 x 2 m dimensions
  • Panel material: SMC / FRP with WRAS-certified resin, graded thickness 12 mm (base) / 10 mm (mid) / 8 mm (upper) / 7 mm (top). 34% glass fiber content, significantly above the 17 to 20% market norm, which improves panel rigidity and cracking resistance for bolted-panel assemblies.
  • Accessories: 1 manhole, water level indicator, breathing valve, overflow pipe, base channel, internal ladder, external ladder, and all bolts, gaskets, and assembly hardware
  • Certifications supplied: WRAS potable water contact certificate, ISO 9001 manufacturer QMS certificate, factory inspection report, material test certificate, warranty certificate
  • Warranty: 3-year manufacturer warranty, 25-year design life

Commercial Structure

50/50 milestone: 50% down on PO, 50% on delivery, cleared prior to unloading at the Freeport gate. This is our standard structure for equipment-only supply scopes where the client handles installation with their own crew.

Why This Matters for Other SBMA / Subic Locators

We regularly deliver to Subic Bay, Clark, and Cavite industrial estates, with delivery cleared prior to unloading at the Freeport gate and complete documentation included. For made-to-order items like FRP water tanks, a documented, engineered supply with WRAS certification is typically faster and more reliable than sourcing off-the-shelf from an NCR wholesaler whose panels rarely carry the certification industrial end-clients require.
